Sim racing gift guides

Gifts for someone who races at home, ordered the way the decision actually goes: the one big piece the rig is missing first, then the mid-range upgrades, then the accessories that get bolted on and used every session. Every product is a verified, in-stock Amazon listing.

Researched from published specs and owner reviews. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

How to pick a gift for a sim racer

A sim rig is a wheel, pedals, something to bolt them to, and a screen, and the driver who owns one has opinions about every part. Two facts decide most gifts: the platform (PC, PlayStation or Xbox), because a wheel that works on one may not work on another, and the rig, because a direct drive base on a desk clamp is a wasted gift. The upgrade order guide lists what a rig gets next, and the wheel compatibility chart shows which wheels run on which console.

The other two measurements are torque and space. Our wheelbase torque calculator tells you how much direct drive a given rig and driver can use, and the rig space calculator checks a cockpit against the room. Neither takes more than a minute, and both are the difference between a gift that gets bolted on and one that stays in the box.
