Is the extra torque usable in practice?
Only partly. Most drivers run high torque bases well below maximum, because arm fatigue arrives long before the base does. The genuine benefit is headroom, which stops force feedback peaks from being flattened. That matters most in heavy cars and high downforce cars and matters very little in a light road car on a smooth circuit.
Do the two share pedals and rims?
Logitech PRO pedals work with both, and that matters because the pedals outlast wheelbases in most rigs. If you are building over time, buying the pedal set first and the base second is a defensible order and it is not a decision either of these wheels locks you out of.
Can either be clamped to a desk?
Not sensibly. Both are direct drive and both push hard enough that a desk clamp becomes the weak point, especially on the G PRO. If a desk is the only option available, a lower torque wheel is the more honest purchase than a strong wheel that has to be turned down to be usable.
Which version do I need for my console?
Both are sold in separate PlayStation and Xbox versions, and the two are not interchangeable, because the authentication is built into the hardware.
